St. Patrick's Day 2012

I really love St. Patrick's Day - I always have. I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with my affinity for corned beef. I love corned beef SO much, that when I was growing up, my mom would buy an extra corned beef brisket (since you can only get them in March usually) and freeze it until my birthday in July. Then she'd pull it out and make it for my birthday dinner. Not gonna lie, I bought an extra one this year for that very purpose. It's in my freezer right now. :)

Part of my St. Patrick's Day tradition, is to invite over some friends, cook, eat, and enjoy a random, silly holiday. So that's what we did this year. We invited over our best friends Clint, Tenille, Dave, and Liz (Jon and Krystal were out of town.) I cooked a yummy Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and peas, and Irish soda bread.

Per usual, set a fun and pretty table. Maybe I have a problem...

I bought a BEAUTIFUL green bouquet to enjoy.

This is my favorite St. Patrick's Day decoration. :)

A picture of Dave, Liz, me, and Scott. (I forgot to take a picture before Clint and Tenille left!) Notice, we're all wearing green in true St. Patrick's Day tradition. Didn't want to get pinched!

Next year, we'll have a little one to celebrate with.
P.S. we find out what we're having on Thursday! Don't forget to vote at the bottom of our blog.

We Bought Our First "Baby" Thing - A Crib!

Tonight, after we went to dinner, we stopped at Toys R Us and bought a crib. We've been doing our research and picked out a beautiful cherry/espresso, simple crib. It was even on sale! Here's the box (it didn't fit in our car - we drove home with the trunk open. Don't worry - only 2 blocks.)

It was SO fun to unpack it and see the beautiful wood!

It took us about 30 minutes, working together, to get the crib assembled. Scott kept saying, "Diana - it's like big kid Legos!"

Here's the finished crib. We still need to buy a mattress, and in a week and a half, we'll know our baby's gender. Then, I can start crafting, sewing, and do even more buying!

I can't BELIEVE we're going to bring home a little baby to this crib in 21 weeks (give or take a little). We're getting more and more excited everyday! Scott said to me - "You know, we'll be paying for this kid starting from today with this crib and then on for the rest of our lives!" We're so grateful!
